About this work

John Galliano’s spring–summer 2005 collection blended references to twentieth-century socialite and Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton with twenty-first century ‘it’ girl Sienna Miller. The runway presentation was likened to an extravagant party full of phantasmagorical indulgence. This dress shows Galliano’s signature use of bias-cut in combination with a psychedelic print indicative of his interest in subcultural touchstones.
