Designer Maarten Baas has been fascinated with the concept of time since attending Design Academy Eindhoven in the late 1990s. His experimental and limited-edition timepieces explore the depiction of time. Grandfather clock combines eighteenth-century style with modern technology. A screen in the clock face displays a twelve-hour-long video of a grandfather-type figure writing the time and rubbing it out again every minute.
